Domain 4 - Professional Responsibilities
4a - Reflecting on Teaching
After completing a unit, I like to look back at pre-assessment scores and compare them to post assessment scores. I also look at how each student did on quizzes between the pre and post assessments as well as how many assignments were turned in and the average score on turned in assignments. An example of this reflection is view-able below.

4b - Maintaining Accurate Records
Keeping a physical copy of my record book is important. I do not always have access to MiStar when grading, but I do always bring my record book with me when grading papers. I prefer to highlight in my book for certain areas that are used as assessments. I also use my record book to record attendance - I color code attendance (green is present, red is absent, and T means tardy) and this allows me to see visually when students are absent or present.

4c - Communicating with Families
Having a strong communicative bond with my parents is something that I strongly value. ClassDojo is the greatest communication tool that I've used thus far. It allows for everyone to be held accountable for the role everyone plays in a successful classroom. My parents have come to see that I make weekly posts of of our spelling words, vocabulary words, vocabulary, and story of the week (featuring a link to listen to the story on YouTube). It allows parents to message me, via an instant messaging option, any cares or concerns that they may have. Students are even able to have accounts to view their own behavior. Anything and everything is posted there - including files for homework, pictures of students, and links to outside websites that can be valuable to students at home.
